Sometimes I get on these random kicks. Right now it’s Cheese Doodles! Not the crunchy ones. The puffy ones. And not just any brand. I don’t like the balls, the puffs, the one’s with the cheetah. No. I want Cheese Doodles. There’s only one! And here lately, I have been obsessed! Now, before you go all healthy on me, I know they are horribly bad for me, but they are also horribly addicting!! And at less than two buck a bag, you can bet your bottom yard sale dollar, there will be a bag (or two) in my Yard Sale Kit!
And to wash that cheesy goodness down, will be my old faithful, Diet Dr. Pepper! It’s my drink of choice. I don’t do coffee. I do Diet DP. So, you can bet there will be a couple of those by my side as well! Now, I know what you are thinking… that’s some fuel you got there, Candace! And you’re right! While I love ’em, Cheese Doodles and Diet DP aren’t going to be enough to get me through. That’s why I thought it was so important to include this as part of my Top Ten Tips for Yard Sale Shopping!
The truth is, to sustain life, you need food, water, and sleep. And the 127 World’s Largest Yard Sale is no different. So here are some things to consider on each front!
You like how I put food first?! Ha ha. It’s not neccesarily the most important. But I’m an eater. So food is always number one on my list! But the truth is, you need GOOD food! Not just junk food! So come prepared! In your Yard Sale Kit, toss a bag of almonds, a few granola bars, apples, and wheat crackers. To spice up those apples and crackers, grab a jar of peanut butter too! It will be more filling and give you energy! Anything that you like that is energy sustaining and chock full of nutrients! We gotta subsidize those Cheese Doodles somehow! And when you grab breakfast, lunch, and dinner, eat smart! Use every opportunity to grab fruits and veggies to keep you feeling good! And if taking a piece of fruit from the breakfast buffet is allowed… by all means! Think ahead!!
Much on the same token, use every opportunity to fill your water bottle when you can! And if you are like me and need caffeine to keep you going, be sure to snag that with your meals. Water will be important to keep you feeling good and keep you from getting a headache. You want to be able to think clearly when you are trying your hand at those rockin’ negotiating skillz! Yes, that Z was intentional!!
And last but certainly not least, sleep! This is the hard one! Most sales will wrap up in the evening. So there’s plenty opportunity to hit the sack early and get plenty of rest! But where you sleep will make a difference! Tip #3 is all about sleep and deciding whether you want to be an adventurer or the shower takin’ type?! It’s a good read if you are trying to figure out where to stay!! Bottom line: Sleep. You will need it!!
Food, water, and sleep are really all you need! And of course, oxygen, but I think that goes without saying. I don’t think any of us will be bouncing from sale to sale holding our breath. But there will be the occasional AMAZING find that will take our breath away! But I digress. Take care of yourself! And the big sale is sure to be a success!!
