The year was 2013 and I decided to quit my corporate job to chase a dream. I started a blog. I attended conferences. I got my first booth at an antique mall. I scoured yard sales and flea markets. I painted. I built. I created. I curated. He provided.
The year was 2014 and our little business was growing. We wanted our own space. We wanted a shop we could call our own. We searched. He provided. The Rusted Roots Shop was born in Hillsborough, NC at the Daniel Boone Village.
The year was 2016. Rusted Roots had outgrown our little shop. We needed a bigger place. We wanted to maintain our humble beginnings. We wanted a farm. He provided. Rusted Roots was on the move to Mebane, NC.
Just this week, we got the news that the Daniel Boone Village was under contract to be sold. Our shop is one of the buildings that will be affected. While the outcome is uncertain. One thing we know for sure… He provided. He paved the way so our business wouldn’t be negatively impacted by the sale.
While the thought of our first shop being demolished absolutely breaks my heart, I know that He has and will continue to provide all that we need. We are blessed beyond measure for this little business we have. And the dreams continue for 2017 and beyond!
On this Thanksgiving, I want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for always supporting us. We open the doors and you show up. We post on social media and you respond to let us know you’re there. We experience major life events and you share in our joy. YOU are the reason we have our story to tell. Rusted Roots wouldn’t be what it is without each and every one of YOU! Don’t think for a second that your support, your kind words, and you encouragement along the way go unnoticed. We promise to ALWAYS remember where we came from and to always be grateful for people like YOU!
And above all, we thank Him! We thank our Lord and Savior for putting YOU in our path. Without Him, none of this would be possible! He provided.
Happy Thanksgiving from Rusted Roots!
